I was looking at all the new books coming out in the next couple of months and THERE ARE SO MANY BOOKS THAT I WANT TO READ!! I’m already behind because The Copper Gauntlet by Holly Black and Cassandra Clare came out earlier this month. I have to get myself in gear. Here are just a few titles that I can’t wait to read this fall.
Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo, 9/29/15
Sword of Summer (Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard #1) by Rick Riordan, 10/6/15
Carry On by Rainbow Rowell, 10/6/15
The Rose Society (Young Elites #2) by Marie Lu, 10/13/15
Dark Tide (Waterfire Saga #3) by Jennifer Donnelly, 10/13/15
Ember is the kind of character that is likeably annoying. On the one hand she’s brave, loyal and fierce. Her wide-eyed curiosity is charming. On the other hand, she’s stubborn and doesn’t know how to listen to directions which usually leads to something bad happening. Whether it directly leads to it or is just enough to distract her friends that make them make stupid mistakes, It always leads to trouble. Despite her faults I’m still rooting for her. After the cut contains spoilers for Rogue and the first book Talon. So if you haven’t read Talon and planning on it, best not to read further.
When I first read the description of Talon, I thought it sounded very familiar to another Teen series, Firelight by Sophie Jordan. They both feature a protaganist who are dragons or a form of dragons, that can blend in with humans. A human boy love interest, who is also a form of Dragon hunter/slayer and another boy dragon to complete the love triangle. As Talon progresses the similarities start to fade. Not completely, though. Readers of both will see them but it’s not the same.
