So I’ve been holding on to this one for a while because of the talk of racism in the writing so I’ll see how this goes. I really loved Divergent so I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt.

I’m also reading Carve The Mark at the moment and I am really enjoying it, despite its issues. I am going to do a long post sometime this month or next month about it. I have to do some more research to make sure that my thoughts are as careful and informative as possible. I will say that any racism in this book is unintentional and I am unsure why many are arguing about it because the Shotet are a mixed race and not all dark skinned, but I’m going to make sure I talk about it and discuss it well none the less.
I will admit though I’ve read the charges of racism about this book I haven’t read any of the articles in full because I wanted to avoid spoilers since I knew I was going to read it either way. It’s just my excitement about reading it has lessened
That’s true too. Honestly when there is talk about racism it doesn’t really spoil much of anything. It’s mostly quotes from the beginning and for some reason many of them had dnfed the book and still talked about it, which was weird for me. I really do hope you like it.
