Summary of the chapter behind the cut.

In this chapter, we were introduced to Sparrowhawk, Earthsea, magic and the Island of Gont. Sparrowhawk is a precocious little boy, who is apprenticed to the village witch. The Kargs, from the Kargad empire, are raiders and they come to the island of Gont. They make their way up the mountain that Sparrowhawk’s village is in, and he saves the village from the raiders by weaving a magical protection and hiding the village in fog. This is almost too much for him, but a wizard who is wondering the island, Ogion the Silent, hears of it and comes to the village. Sparrowhawk is given his true name by Ogion and he goes with the wizard to be his apprentice in the town of Re Albi.
